Assignment 9/17/09

When Columbus went to explore the new land, he found that everyone had just left without even taking their valuables and with out leaving any evidence behind. There was no signs of why they left, where they went, or why they left in such a hurry. Christopher Columbus came to America expecting to finad a settlement of people but instead he found no one or any sign of why they weren't there. If that were I would be scared and worried about my life becayse what it the same thing that happend to them could happen to me. At the same time I would be so into the beautiful, untouched, flourishing land that I'd forget about being so worried, almost like Columbus did. He was lucky to be so fortunate as to see and explore the new world. To experience that, would be so amazing to and I just wish I could've had that opportunity. When he met with the Natives he was veryrepectful towards their beliefs. You can tell he does when he said, " it was a great afflistion to me to be ignorant of their natures, for I am very certain they are all valuable." Columbus was a very smart man for being at peace with Natives and working together with them to help him survive in the new world. In this passage about Christopher Columbus I learned more about him than I knew bofore as a person not only what he accomplished.
