Blog pages 22-23

This idea that before the Earth existed there was only water is kind of not as impossible to believe as you think. At least I think it isn't because if you really look at a present day globe most of the planet is made up of water. So for the whole world to first exist as just a big ball of water doesn't seem so far fetched as it sounds. When the wife of the Skyland Cheif had the dream about uprooting the Great Tree and when they decided to actually uproot it, I thought it was the most stupid idea ever. Because in the story this tree is described as so great and beautiful , its four roots streched to each of the sacred directions, and from its branches all kinds of fruits and flowers grew. It sounds like this tree is very important to the Skyland society and for them to uproot just because the Skland Cheif's wife had a dream about it was stupid. In the end though it is actually a very good thing. After they uprooted the tree and the wife fell through the hole i thought she was just going to die. But out of no where these swans fly up and catch her not thinking of were they are goin to place her of course because if they had they wouldn't have even bothered to save her. This is because there is absolutley no land where they live, just water. When they caught her they gathered up all the other animals to figure what they were to going to do with the women. When the animals were conversing one of them knew that deep below the water was earth and so they all tried so hard to grab some earth but all fail. Exceot for the maby the smallest animal of them all the muskrat succeeded in getttin a peice of earh,which is ironical because he is the smallest and definitley not the most water animal there. I like that the author did this because usually the little guys never win, but in this story he did! The way the author explains his thought of the creation of the world is very interesting unique, not the same old bible of science explanation.
